1 Delicious Blackberry Cobbler recipe

It is that time of year again when everyone is baking and making all kinds of goodies in their kitchens.  I am the crazy one who bakes just as much in the summer as in the winter and fall.

I love this old-fashioned blackberry cobbler recipe because it is the best blackberry cobbler recipe that has berries in it which makes it a great summer dessert, yet it’s also a holiday favorite. I made this for Thanksgiving one year, and it was a great alternative to a pie which takes a lot longer to prepare!

I am still in full summer mode but also preparing for fall food. Figure that one out. I love to hold onto summer for as long as I can, but having a blog forces me to think ahead food-wise. For instance, I bake for Valentine’s day in January. I cooked a full-blown Thanksgiving feast in September last year. My job is weird!

I am definitely not ready for the endless pumpkin and apple desserts, but I do like how the food trends change with the seasons. This sure keeps things interesting. Also, this girl can only take so much pumpkin before I get a little burnt out on it.  Some may say I’m crazy….

For whatever reason, whenever I think of cobbler my mind immediately thinks of apple cobbler or cherry cobbler.  Sometimes I forget about all the other delicious cobblers out there, such as this one. I also am very partial to my Pumpkin Pecan Cobbler, but that is more of a fall or winter dessert.

This blackberry cobbler is one of my new favorite “go to” dessert recipes because it’s really easy to throw together, yet it tastes like you slaved all day over it. Whenever I am in charge of dessert making, this old-fashioned blackberry cobbler or my throw-together Crock Pot Peach Cobbler are always the first thing that comes to mind. I keep frozen blackberries in my freezer at all times just for this recipe!

What’s great about this cobbler is you can easily mix and match your favorite fruit combinations in this recipe, along with what’s currently in season or just buy any frozen fruit at the store.  It will work with whatever your fruit(s) of choice is.  Top it with a small scoop of vanilla ice cream if you’re feeling extra daring, but this cobbler is plenty sweet enough on it’s own! I’m also loving this Peach and Plum Cobbler from my good friend, Liz. It’s another great summer option. Enjoy!
